Come along and try out rowing at GUBC's taster day 2026!!
An opportunity to learn the basics of the sport on land and in a boat. Bring your friends and come along for a fun day of trying a new sport and meeting our members!
We welcome people of all abilities and absolutely no experience is needed - we will teach you everything you need to know! You'll be shown some of the equipment we use and how to use it before getting on the water to give it a try.
A coach will leave the university at 2pm to take you to Castle Semple Loch and will bring you back for around 5:30pm. In terms of what to wear and bring, please wear sportswear and try to wrap up warm - you will likely be sat for a while whilst you learn! You should hopefully stay dry, but the weather isn't always on our side, so bring some spare clothes for after.
After you've had a go on the water, we will have a BBQ to give you the chance to chat to others and ask any questions you may have about the club!
