About Us

Glasgow University Athletics Club (GUAC) is one of the University of Glasgow’s longest-established and most successful sports clubs having won the Scottish University Championships for over 10 years

We provide a structured training environment for athletes of all abilities, from those new to athletics through to experienced competitors targeting BUCS finals and national selection. Our programme combines event-specific track and field training with dedicated strength & conditioning, giving athletes the opportunity to develop their performance, build strength and speed, and compete throughout the university season. Training is organised across specialist sprints, middle-distance, jumps and throws groups, providing event-specific coaching and development for athletes looking to progress and perform at their best.

Our members range from complete beginners to the sport to BUCS Champions and international athletes. Recent club alumni include Scottish International high jumper Nikki Manson and Olympic Silver Medalist Laura Muir.
