Glasgow University Cricket Club is the University of Glasgow's official cricket team. We are a relaxed, friendly club offering cricket to players of all levels of ability and experience.
Male and Female members are welcome. We also pride ourselves on having an active and accepting social scene. If you are new to cricket, played your whole life or want to get back into the game, GUCC is the prefect way to do so!
We run a competitive 1st XI that play in the BUCS (British Universities and Colleges Sport) Scottish Division One during the outdoor season. We are also hoping to get a team entered into the BUCS Scottish indoor league in the coming seasons.
We have a friendly 2nd XI perfect for social cricket and beginners. We also have a growing women's side which we will be playing a mixture of indoor and outdoor fixtures!
We train and play our games at West of Scotland CC in Partick, which is only a 15-minute walk from the University. Each week we run: · Open net session (Uncoached) · Beginner’s training session · Women’s training session · 1XI training session (Invite only)
Just like most other sports clubs on campus, we have socials on Wednesday evenings which will usually end in GUU.
It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the appropriate insurance cover for any activity you take part in. Upon joining, please check the level of insurance cover we, as a club, provide to you.
GUSA recommends that all students playing high risk sport, go abroad to compete/train, or are playing in governing body leagues, may want to consider/need to take out personal liability insurance, or join the sports governing body to be covered. Some insurance providers also offer specialist sports cover.
