About Us
GUSSC is one of the largest GUSA clubs at Glasgow University, and is a great way to meet new friends, or get involved with something new!

GUSSC is Glasgow’s biggest Skiing and Snowboarding society, and so much more. We host the biggest socials on campus, from ‘Cheese and Wine’ (our ski trip launch party, with unlimited wine), to boat parties and sub-crawls! We do an annual ski trip for our members as well as multiple Scottish skiing trips every year (depending on weather). We’ve also won BUDS (British Uni Dry Slope Championships) 8 years in a row, and SUDS (Scottish Uni Dry Slope Championships) more times than we can count!
We have two types of Memberships: Social (£25) and Competitive (£40).
Competitors
Everyone is welcome! We have one competitor’s team with a massive range of abilities; from absolute beginners to the best dry slope skiers in Britain! The team is selected at a very informal and relaxed dry slope session. Competitive members have access to free weekly dry slope training sessions.

Social
A ‘social’ (recreational) membership gains members access to our annual ski trip, discounted pre-trip dry slope lessons (subject to availability), and Scottish skiing trips (dependent on weather and subject to availability). As well as access to all our socials, which last year included: Cheese & Wine, Subcrawl, Pub Crawl, Boiler room, Boat party, Pre-trip meet a mate, charity football tournament, and many, many more.
Socials
We run regular socials for both competitive and social members, including but not limited to: Cheese & Wine, Subcrawl, Pub Crawl, Boiler room, joint socials with other clubs, Boat party, Pre-trip meet a mate social, charity football tournaments + more.

Ski trip
Or legendary GUSSC Ski Trip 2026 will be the highlight of the year - skiing, snowboarding, APRÉS, and unforgettable memories with 600 other student. Whether you’re a first-time skier, a freestyle pro, or just along for the vibes, this trip is perfect for you. This is the most affordable and fun way to go skiing with all your friends (old or new).

Skiing
We run discounted lessons for beginners in the first semester (£72 for 4 sessions). Lessons are available for beginner skiers and snowboarders and take place at Bellahouston dry slopes.
We host several girls only ski sessions at the local dry slope. This is an amazing way to try out a new sport for just a small entry fee.
We train once per week, which is free for competitive members. Weekly attendance is not mandatory; these sessions are very relaxed and great fun. We also have a bar at training for spectators.
Scottish ski trips
We go on day/weekend trips skiing up north when there's snow.

Insurance
It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the appropriate insurance cover for any activity you take part in. Upon joining, please check the level of insurance cover we, as a club, provide to you.
GUSA recommends that all students playing high risk sport, go abroad to compete/train, or are playing in governing body leagues, may want to consider/need to take out personal liability insurance, or join the sports governing body to be covered. Some insurance providers also offer specialist sports cover.
